Ace Boogi

" On the real though, I feel like I rap circles around most of these dudes that claim they hot. That's just how I feel you know, and I see people that say I'm conceited or cocky as insecure about themselves. But I don't feel like I'm cocky at all; just confident." Says rapper Ace Boogi as he makes a general statement about competition as far as hip hop in North Carolina goes; but can you blame him? Born August 29th, 1990, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Adrian Bell was brought up around music his whole life which is where a lot of his inspiration comes from. Around the age of 1 he and his family moved to Clinton, NC, where he currently resides now. "Before my mother and Father split up it was my 2 brothers, my little sister and I. All throughout the week you could hear my Dad playing his music. I got introduced to a lot of different types of music. Old school R&B, rock, and my personal favorite P Funk! My favorite artists were Bootsy Collins, Parliament Funkadelic, and The Temptations. They had the largest impact on me as far as music goes." As he grew older he and his 2 brothers had to stay in the same room, this was the first time he was introduced to hip hop in the early 90's. He admits he couldn't get enough of it. " My oldest brother would play music all day yo, everything! New York was running the game, all I listened to was DMX, Nas, Jay-Z and Biggie, all day everyday! "

Eventually Adrian began writing his own rhymes, using his music as an outlet to express his feelings about things he was going through at the time. " When I was like 9 or 10 my parents split and we went back to the projects, a place called Eastover Terrace, I could only see my Pops on the weekend and that kind of got to me you know, I had to vent and let it out, and when I sat down and thought about stuff I would just rhyme about it, I would get a little anthem or somethings catchy in my head to describe how I felt about the situation and whenever those feelings came back up I would just press play in my head you feel me? I just kept it moving after that."
