DJ Andee Frost is that loveable type of bloke that keeps night clubs open for business, the care bear of the Melbourne music scene. Andee's eclectic style of Mary Poppins how much can you carry in that bag- what is this thing you speak of called acid-but we only know the mainroom remix-I thought the French eat snails not techno- has found him play the creepiest of little Melbourne disco dungeons and grotty siderooms of the most banging main room house clubs in the country. After developing his current state of psychosis at the worldly renowned and now ceased Honky Tonks, Andee has proven to be that rare enigma of a d.j. who simply brings an attitude to the old wheels of steel as opposed to a style. Known to make punters feel the walls cave in, the fake i.d. holders turn into vampires and the oldies forgetting their 9am starts, Andee's sets aint about being a fashionista, there built on the need to get twisted. Whilst having supported every big name foreigner from Daft Punk to Justice and the tea sipping Klaxons, Andee Frost continues to prove why his dimensioneering, kooky party sounds have him known as the Dr.Seuss bastard son of the Aussie club scene!

If youre a bored teen at the bum end of the Lilydale line your prospects for teenage kicks are scant. Stealing road signs, letting off firecrackers and blowing shit up are about as hot as it gets.
For one young Andee Frost it was the glimmer of the school disco that got him going. Too many nights spent cross-eyed studying the antics of the mobile DJ at the school disco lead to an indecent obsession with dancing and dance music.
As soon as he was legal Frosty was straight behind the decks himself (moonlighting during the day in Box Hill selling Wamdue Project cassingles) busting out his eclectic mix of whatever the fuck he wants.
Within a couple of years he was giving Melbournes premier DJs proverbial blue balls as vinyl gatekeeper at Central Station records (I love those purists who always think you have some hot new record hiding behind the counter that your not showing them - talk about paranoid!).
It was the legendary Miss Krystal, who, in Mother Goose mode, first escorted Frostee into Honkytonks land: I was knocked back the first two times I went there. It was like the gateway to another dimension, one which Ive been transcending quite a bit lately.
So began a beautiful relationship built on agwa, rave sticks, tit glory holes and fine sounding music. Frostee and pals gave birth to Gag Reflex (now a booming one year old), a monthly Sunday night of snags, party monsters, fags and whoever the fuck else wants to ruin the start of the working week, getting up to all sorts of debauched shenanigans to the deftly crafted soundtrack of Andee and friends pushing the musical boundaries behind the wheels (I dont fit into stovepipes so I guess I was built outside the mould).
Along the way Andee has strutted his hot stuff DJing along sides the likes of 2 Many DJs, Sneaky Sound System, Bang Gang, Cut Copy, The Presets, The Avalanches, Colder and oh so many other super trendoids.
Unbeknown to some, Andee holds the Honkytonks record for most sausages eaten in one night (14 is the current record) at the Gag Reflex sausage sizzle. Go deliver him one next time you spot him manning the wheels behind the grand piano he likes his with sauce.
