It is with sadness that we are announcing that Blackstorm has come to the end of the road. We’ve been trying to overcome some issues for a while now but we haven’t managed to find a solution to the problems so have decided to throw in the towel. It sucks but that’s life.
We’ve got a batch of new-ish tunes that we think are great that haven’t seen the light of day yet. We hope to get these added to our myspace page for download early 2011.
Thanks for buying our releases, coming to the shows and wearing our t-shirts, it means a lot us.
And a big thank you to Rose for the amazing artowork.
I thought i would let everybody know what is going on with the band as we have been quite for little while now.
due to some of us being busy with other commentments we will be laying low for the summer and will contunie working on new songs, that we hope will see light near the tale end of the year.
Gig wise, we my do the odd gig over the summer if we can. if not then we will return in September/October with a handle full of shows.
Blackstorm were never going to disappoint. Featuring ex-earthtone9 /Twin Zero vocalist Karl Middleton and former The Ghost of a Thousand man Gez Walton in their ranks, it would deny the very forces of nature if this two-track release sucked. With its hulking guitars and Middleton's distinctive operatics, opening track 'Weakened By Division' is cracking number that recalls the more instantly accessible moments of Twin Zero, while 'Closing In' witnesses the four-piece taking their cues much more from the likes of Crowbar and Clutch – to excellent results. With their debut EP set to drop early in the new year, these initial signs bode extremely well.
