Bohemia Visual Music (aka) BVM is a company that operated and programmed KPHE... channel's 19 and 44 in the Phoenix Metro Area which is Maricopa and surrounding counties. After KPHE moved and changed owners and transmitters the station covered 3.9 million homes. BVM-TV is the ONLY antenna over the air broadcast TV signal that runs music videos, concerts, live interviews and old short film clips running 24 hours per day 7 days a week! We don't advertise but get by with word of mouth about the superior and eclectic programming. We now have the ability to run stations with a massive internationally licensed music video library. There are several formats/genres collected from the 70's as well as all the current videos and vintage material released to BVM-TV by all major and independent record labels. "Bohemia Afterdark" started in 1982 on a local Phoenix access channel and then as late night "paid programming" on a national basis until 2002. In 2003, (BVM) Bohemia Visual Music changed all that. BVM now gets paid by the stations that want our programming. After a lot of blood, sweat & tears and hard work. Modern Media Productions, BVM's parent company started out just shooting bands in Phoenix local venues, mainly Punk Bands from Phoenix, Los Angeles, Tucson etc. In 1992 Modern Media Productions/ Bohemia Afterdark. Jeff and Jennifer Harris Crawford were pioneers of the public access era even being trained by the likes of Steven Spielberg at United Cable of Scottsdale which is now Cox communications. Since the early days interviews and concert footage were shot in every possible venue. From tiny bar rooms, concert halls to arenas , Jeff Crawford has shot them all. Network 1 had the vision that did give Bohemia over 22 outlets on LPTV stations on late night/over night airings in 1996. Our programming (Bohemia Afterdark) has been nominated five time and has won two times (1994 & 1996) for Best best Alternative Programming by Billboard Magazine. Bohemia moved back to Phoenix, Arizona in 2000 to make the dream happen for a 24-7 idea...hence KPHE - 44 We were the first in a major market to utilize Text messaging over cell phone for interactive chat live on TV! We stream .. phones in 30 frames per second. We have over 70,000 videos and counting with countless concerts, interviews - short films. animation shorts. We are currently working on a new website. We will have bands play live and cover all aspects of local, national and international music videos and the scenes in general in collective manner because that's how we have always programmed. We try to keep music "Free". We have no VJ's except Irish Shay who hosts "Afterdark" a hour long punk rock show. Despite being only 19 Irish Shay has an immense mental library of punk rock and doe's interviews with the likes of H.R. from Bad Brains, Check... It... Out! He’s cool dude who really knows his stuff. * BVM did make big strides in technologies. With over 138,730 Texts in 60 days within two months on a brand new station with no publicity or advertising ... again WORD OF MOUTH We would like to thank the many, many hand written letters, phone calls and emails from the thousands of supporters, fans and viewers who at the last minute put their voices out there trying to convince the owners of KPHE 44 to keep BVM on and put the Diamondbacks and other sports in Spanish on another channel. Seemed really bad at first but we will now be state wide. Funny how things turn out sometimes. Ron Bergamo was our producer for this Documentary and with much respect to him and his family we had to make this decision. We will continue to shoot for a later date next year 2009.
