    I'm Daniele Defranchis, aka Ippe. 360° is my philosophy. Born June 1978, in Milan, Italy, I began with classical guitar lessons at 12 years old. At the same time I taught myself electric guitar, formed my first band and started writing my first songs. From then on, I've been running on two parallel lines, the classical studies on one side and rock on the other. Admitted at Civica Scuola di Musica, while giving first Conservatory exams, my heavy metal bands receive nice reviews for their demo-tapes, concerts and self produced CDs. In 2004 I graduate in Economy! 2005 I obtain the Conservatory Diploma and dedicate myself to ancient music and period instruments until I obtain the XIX Century Guitar Diploma in 2010. My teachers Giorgio Oltremari, Agostina Mari, Lorenzo Micheli, Massimo Lonardi, Claudio Maccari, Paolo Pugliese and Pavel Steidl. Got some prizes in international competitions. Meanwhile, I keep moving in the underground scene with different bands where I am guitarist, composer, arranger. Ethno-progressive band Reverie, folk-ambient band Iridio, pop-ambient singer Monica Shannon and classical duos and chamber music ensembles bring me and my guitar into beautiful theatres and concert halls as well as into clubs and big festivals, in Italy and Europe. I'm also working as transcriber and I am teaching classical, acoustic guitar @ Scuola Musicale di Milano (SMM), in Milan, Italy.

  • Influences

    1st love was rock and metal, most of all blues hearted guitarists like Jeff Waters, Angus, Stevie Ray, then Satriani, Marty Friedman and great rhythm guitarists Hetfield, Bobby Gustafson and Malcolm. Then got deep into classical and love ancients like Dowland, Bach, Mozart and great classical-rock-jazz fusion made by Roland Dyens. As players Pavel Steidl, Lorenzo Micheli, luthenist Massimo Lonardi, duo Maccari-Pugliese, the Assads. And, of course, evrything in between, expecially popular-traditional-world music and everything that comes from the heart! .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
