Bio
Formed in Berlin in 1981 by Victor Ulenkatz and Geneve Duchamp, DBFK kickstarted the "Blue Wave" movement of the early 80's combining honky tonk blues, electronica and soft porn. Heavily influenced by the works of Polish born play-write Anton Kresquenkrev this sensual two piece toured the Eastern block extensively smearing their unique brand of "erocktronica" across the Baltics. Over the years many faces have come and gone in the DBFK locker room including those of Greame Neuman (Trans Ballet), Omar Svensen (SerpentRanger), Tonia Gresh (Gresh), Sun Park Kim (Seoul Patch) and Italian American, Anthony Rosetti to name but a few. In 1991 after a radical change in direction, DBFK eliminated all musical instruments from the band, opting for a 6 piece oral noise choir as their medium to create bold and relevant musique. However, due to a decision to also eradicate all recording equipment, nothing of this era of DBFK has survived save those memories seared eternally onto the brains of their loyal fan-base. It was not until the late 1990's after yet another metamorphosis that DBFK decided to pick up their instruments once more to record their first album in 8 years "Murder Death Thrill", a short lived stab at the throbbing rap metal scene of the time. Although being a huge success in much of rural Canada, Murder Death Thrill was a failure. Much of their long time fan base abandoned them in it's wake and the departure of Duchamp in 2002 marked a grave time in DBFK's l'histoire. Duchamp would later go on to produce Spacehog's unreleased 2004 album "Back 4 More". It was around this time that Ulenkatz met multi-instrumentalist, Steven Fairweather (Sleepwalkers, Castle Project, Peace and Quiet, The Esseens, By a Thread, Small Pox), virtuoso, Phil Misquitta (Haggatha, Sleepwalkers, The Esseens, JohnRitterIsDead, Small Pox) and the mildly autistic Tim Miller (Glory Whole, Big Picnic) at a dog fight at DMX's house. The four men, united by their common love of smut, music and illicit sports set forth on a musical and spiritual journey culminating in a mysterious ceremony. Some say the quartet sold their souls to Shaitahn or successfully materialised a homunculi through abstract alchemical method. Others say they went to the Number 5 Orange and drank for 5 hours till they were ejected for touching. No one really knows for sure what happened, but what we do know is that with a brand new stellar line up and new "fuck you very much attitude" DBFK returned to the scene with an arousing force cementing themselves forever in the annuls of Rock-time. After the sudden and tragic death of Ulenkatz in 2006 during a civil war battle re-enactment, the remaining members vowed to continue Ulenkatz's vision quest, providing rock hard audio-erections for all in their wake. You can catch DBFK on the forthcomming Wild Hogs 2: American Trotter soundtrack. .... D.B.F.K. in a row boat,...trippin balls.. .. .. .. .. .. -
