Ever since a very early age G-Banga has had a fascination with the power of the drum beat. From his first kit at the tender age of 8 he has continued to be a fan of drum driven, tribal and electronic styles of music. He is a staunch advocate for the prime-evil power that a simple kick can provide, and the unification it brings to a group of people. It is this simple belief that is the driving force behind a philosophy that he is still loyal to today.

Gav's love for the club scene began in 1989, attending some of the earliest warehouse parties in the industrial areas & famed old club venues around the city of Sydney. Somehow slipping past the big men at the door at a very questionable age & being lucky enough to witness both Australia's and what are now the worlds most celebrated & prolific djs play in the blossoming stages of the new "trance music" movement, over time seeing its fruition into the grand scale that we all know today. Wether he is booked to play out at an event or on the floor as a punter supporting other djs/artist you would be hard pressed to find somebody that gives more time and support to the scene, and to anyone that has the courage to live life out on that precarious limb & strive for the upmost in their artform!

G-Banga's eclectic taste in all musical styles outside of performing sees him incorporating many different elements into his dj-ing philosophy, in that he hears music in everything. From the Techno infused cling clang of a train changing tracks pulling into Central station, to the general bustle of the city itself, G-Banga tends to run the gauntlet of musical emotions by mirroring the sounds and elements of everyday life into a set. He is a performer who believes in the immediacy of going for something on the fly and riding the momentum of an energy, which makes for some quite explosive performances.

Wether it be from he's use of rock, pop or classical elements, right through to the broad trance spectrum itself including his strongest love of the dance genre Industrial/Tribal Techno - Acid & darker German analogue sounds. It would definitely be safe to say that he is one dj that not only understands the power of the darkside, but revels in its beauty.

He's presence behind the decks reflects the passion he possesses for the craft, channelling the music he plays with all manor of contorted and playfully mischievous movements. Visually interpreting the elements that move him in each note being belted out, urging the crowd to come along on a diverse musical journey with him, to speak without speaking!. The energy of his sets are varied in the ways he plays from one to another. Wether he be enducing the depth of emotion in a track created by a flowing journey feel or the mayhem and complexity in a choppy set, Constantly incorporating mashes, cuts, EQ effects and tricks on the mix tip, piecing absolutely any pop or squeak into the mix, in a sense throwing down a challenge to himself to make it work. Slotting random sounds along side musical notes to become one in an equal and harmonious part of the performance. These same ideals have flowed over from his playing and now into his budding musical production.

G-Banga has enjoyed a steady playing career in the Sydney scene from May 2003 where he made his club debut in Plastics 2nd annual dj comp, from which he gained an immense amount of exposure and fully recommends all aspiring djs to enter into. Since then he has gone on to fill spots at some of the most sought after and popular club nights & major events around Sydney such as Plastic itself (Resident), Grooveinc @ Breed (Resident), Big Day Out, Gas, Home, Space, The Gaff, The Havana Bar, Arq, Transmission and many many other major parties. Now having the pleasure to call all the djs he once watched in awe of for so many years he's colleagues in John Ferris, Mark Dynamix, Jumping Jack and Nik Fish to name a few, aswell as sharing the bill with the cream of the world finest dj's/producers!

G-banga is a performer who believes in the artform first and foremost and gives his absolute all every time his steps foot behind the turntables. His skill level and commitment to his craft should see him remain a player in the scene for many more years to come.
