As one of the original underground hip hop DJ's in Toronto, Fase consider's himself very fortunate to make a living playing the music he play's, mainly a combination of hip hop, r&b, reggae, funk, soul, old-school and jazz. As a full-time DJ/music producer for the last 9 years, gigs have come and gone, but Fase has always managed to stay busy. He has have been apart of many successful weekly's, but currently play's out 3 times a week (which his wife would say is plenty). Footwork Tuesdays at Wrongbar is Toronto's longest running Hip Hop, Funk, Soul & Old School weekly which started in early 2000. Sunday nights at Czehoski on Queen St. West & Do Right Saturday's at Supermarket. Plus, Edumacation, Fase's long running party goes down at the Drake Hotel every third Friday of the month. Radio has been on Fase's resume since the late 90's, with shows on Chin & Project Bounce, and many guest spot's on CKLN. Currently he holds down two time slots on 89.5 fm. "Stolen Moments", Tuesday afternoon's from 3-5 and "Stylistic Endeavors", Friday evenings from 8-10. CIUT has been his 'on air' home, and has been for the last 9 years. As one half of the hip hop duo "Abdominal & DJ Fase", Fase graced the cover of Toronto's NOW magazine as they released there album "Flowtation Device" in 2001. Together Abs & Fase have toured across Canada and recently returned from gigs in Denmark, Sweden and two UK tours in 07'. Fase has opened for many local and international acts, such as The Roots, Africa Bambataa, The Original Jazzy Jay, De La Soul, Nas, k-os, Mos Def, M.O.P, Camp Lo, Sadat X, John Legend, Jamiroquai, Black Eyed Peas (with Justin Timberlake), DJ A-Trak, Blackalicious, Jurassic 5, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Def Jux & Kool Keith to name a few. 'NOW' magazine gave Fase the honor of TORONTO's #1 DJ in the BEST of 2004 issue, which was a nice surprise after being runner-up in both Toronto's EYE and NOW weekly's in 01' & 02'. Currently he is working on a solo album witch will feature a wide range of artists, both Canadian and American. As well as producing 3 songs on Abdominal's solo album 'Escape From The Pigeon Hole" in stores now. Fase & Theology 3 are nearing completion of there "Worldwide Side Project" Album due out in 2010. Fase is also a 6 time nominee of the Canada wide Stylus DJ Awards. Although he has yet to win just being nominated every year since the awards inception in 2006 shows his relevance as a DJ in this country. In April of 2006 Fase joined the Urban Noise workshop to teach DJ'ing to high school kids at the Elmbank Community Center in Rexdale, which he continues to do in April and May of every year. As a DJ/producer Fase's main focus is making and playing music that he love's.
