L Chico

Dutch DJ L Chico has been seriously involved in the musicscene since the early 80’s. He frequently visited the studios of the (illegal) local Radio Stations where he self started playing as a DJ in 1985. Pumping the original discoclassics into the air, his addiction for music was born.
In 1996 L Chico moved to the United States for a year and got more involved with different musicstreams like Contemporary Jazz, R&B, Hiphop & Rap. With his extremely wide interest and knowledge of different styles of music it was only logic that he ended up as a DJ playing in the circuit of the Grand Cafés of Amsterdam.
Being an all-round DJ, L Chico started his mixing career at the Ritz and later moved residences to the 3 sisters, 1890, Club GG, prins H & Amstelhaven.
For the past years L Chico has been playing more in the clubscene. Amongst others he played on locations like: Hotel Arena, SOL, Zebralounge, More, Marcanti & Club 7, Vak Zuid, Lexion and on parties like; Paleis Soestdijk, De Club, Sincity, Zoom, Sweet & Sticky, Soixanf Neuf, Class, No Class, Bastard, Girls On Top, Reunited & Pauze. With current residences at the Zebra Lounge, Vak Zuid, Lexion & Sincity, L Chico has been playing with big names in the DJ-scene like; Mark van Dale, DJ Jean, Robert Feelgood, Chuckie, Melly Mell, RickyRivaro, Real El Canario, Jaziah, Chew-Fu-Phat, Virgil Reality, All Star Fresh, Erick-E & Don Diablo. Often DJ L Chico plays together with his MC Rayden and combined with a huge collection of CD’s and vinyl they will guarantee you an all-round, evening filling program with a smashing club/house climax.
The musicstyle that L Chico provides is not that easyto define (some call it eclectic) but you could see it as a playful mix of disco, urban, reggaeton, club, latin & house. But due to his background of classics, R&B, Jazz and hiphop you should also be prepared for some surprise fireworks!!!
