The DTP sound is dark, unsettling and destructive yet lush, seductive and beautiful. Although danceable, it rarely meanders into standard verse/chorus/verse pop templates. Instead, compositions are arranged in movements; usually having more in common with Modest Mussorgsky than Modest Mouse. Coupled with lyrics embracing themes of isolation, excess, hopelessness and self destruction, DTP is an unapologetically decadent and desolate listening experience.
