Bio
Sometimes they're absorbed in the misfortunes of the world, and other times they erupt in life-affirming and stirring passion. This is how Fugitive Dancer’s unique style is described best. Two voices, carried by intense melodies, tell their story in an uncompromising and innocuous fashion. In the fall of 2008, the band members, Sebastian Krichler [vocals, guitar], Maxim Skripko [vocals, guitar], and Julian Klein [keys], met each other while studying at Neu-Ulm university. Together they indulged in their common love for music. Their intense style is full of passion, sorrow and melancholy, yet somehow it still celebrates life. Their studies quickly took the back seat and, together with Marius Stehle [drums], they practiced the nights away. What started out as a common dream quickly became reality. Just four months later, early in 2009, the band members finally decided that they could no longer hold back their musical expression from the public. With support from Jadwiga Seelig [cello] and Sebastian Petrich [bass], they went to the studio and recorded their first EP. “Spark of the Fugitive Dancer” declares love for experiences that people encounter when they live with eyes wide open: a daily spark of events triggered by love and loss, doubt and friendship, the magic and depth of long, misty nights, and the sobriety of the day after. At the moment Fugitive Dancer are focusing on the work for their first LP . Together with producer Holger Krzywon [Slut/The Notwist] they have begun the final recording. With their next Longplayer Fugitive Dancer will open the backdoor a little more to grant a deeper sight. The narrative perspective of the songs, the silent view from the inside on the bewilderments of life and moments of happiness will stay the same. Sometimes familiar, intimate and calm. But now more often in faster rhythms, louder and more vivid. -
