    Funeral Hag are a 4 piece metal band from Brighton in the UK. Our sound is a fusion of doom metal, stoner rock and sludgecore inspired by Black Sabbath, Iron Monkey, Cathedral, Electric Wizard, Sleep, Weedeater, Bongzilla... Funeral Hag began as a solo project of guitarist "Tank" Jon Hill in 2008 when he recorded the first version of Nellie Longarms and an early demo of Screams Of A Banshee. Both demos were well received by the online doom community and in early 2009 Jon decided to take the project further and recruit a full band. He recruited his work colleague and former bandmate in Killing Mode, Neville Taylor (Sabazius), to play 2nd guitar. Nev in turn recruited his bandmate Steve Patton (Sabazius) to play bass, and Steve contacted his former bandmate from Pægan Terrorism Tactics, George Leaver, to play drums. All that was needed now was a vocalist so Steve contacted his friend Ian Montgomery (Headface). Thus Funeral Hag was born. The band recorded a 3 track demo themselves in summer 2009, which can be downloaded for free from this page. They have played various gigs in and out of Brighton, and are always looking for more shows. Sadly, Nev decided to leave Funeral Hag in October 2010. After a successful gig without him, the band decided to continue as a four piece rather than seeking a replacement, despite no shortage of volunteers!
