    Systématiquement classées au rayon des "atypiques", les productions de Général Alcazar sont uniques dans leur genre et, en ce sens, sont facilement identifiables dans la petite jungle de la distribution discographique habituelle... Les collaborations effectives sont essentiellement réalisées par le biais d'amitiés tenaces, de choix de programmations volontaires, de labels indépendants courageux et de budgets de production quasi- inexistants. Au-delà du concept de "groupe", la réalité de Général Alcazar est surtout basée sur une musicalité intuitive mais néanmoins très élaborée et qui semble avoir été réalisée sur la base d'un manuel du parfait petit bricoleur. Depuis le début de cette histoire Patrick Chenière représente la figure emblématique de Général Alcazar, instigateur infatigable d'une musique et de textes résolument hors-norme, franchement démarqué du pseudo "renouveau" de la chanson française! On peut éventuellement considérer cela comme une forme à haut risque d'indépendance.
