All Things Belong to Us Now is the 2010 release, from Baltimore Industrial Rock act ,XUBERX. In the 2 years since their last release, Intelligence Revised, it appears the band has been evolving their sound and playing around with new arrangements, and this 5 Track EP is a nice teaser for fans who have been anxiously awaiting new material.

XUBERX continues to perfect their brand of Industrial Rock with elements of noize in their programming and percussion, but seem to be focusing more on Z0MB0Y's snarling vocals and CheetahDave's guitars. Lyrically the EP has more of a personal tone to the lyrics. While there is that rage toward the injustices of the world, songs like Something I Choose to Ignore, put the listener in the center of this hurricane of anger as its passenger and maybe pilot. Another notable change is that the three new songs do not feature both female and male vocals tagging off like on Intelligent Demise. Something I Choose to Ignore and Imported Failure feature Z0MB0Y exclusively while Liebchen takes the reigns on the sensuous but sad, Rid of Me. While this reviewer did previously write that this vocal tag-off between snarling rap and heartbreaking operatic vocals made XUBERX unique, it didn't work well for all the songs on previous releases. This EP demonstrates the individual strengths of both vocalists nicely. Musically the EP has solid production and perfectly balanced guitar, programming and drums. CheetahDave's guitar takes the lead on the opening 2 tracks with the synths and beats building a perfectly dancy background, and on Rid of Me, the guitars seem to calmly sit and wait their turn to put that some anger and regret behind Liebchen's vocals and the haunting synths when the song reaches its climax. The CD also features a remix of Gone by Assemblage 23, which is perfect for DJs looking for a synthy sounding track with a bit of bite to it for their sets and a live performance of their break out track “The World Ends Today”. Both of which round out the EP nicely.

While XUBERX has been rather quiet in the past few years, fans should take heart, and let All Things Belong to Us Now be solid proof that the band continues to still experiment and perfect their sound.

RECOIL TOUR T-SHIRTS – now on sale

Just added at the Recoil store, we have the last few T shirts from Recoil’s ‘Selected Events’ tour, in two different designs. These are the last in stock and will not be re-manufactured, so if you didn’t manage to pick one up on the tour, here is your chance. Unfortunately, we only have a limited amount so they will probably go fast.

‘COLLECTED +’ DVD & CALENDAR – last few available!

Collected + features the remastered version of Martin Vladar’s documentary film which accompanied the AW/DM auction earlier this year. This updated disc features additional unseen footage and a photo gallery, as well as a video summary of the auction day in Manchester. There’s even a new edit of an instrumental-only mix of Recoil’s ‘Intruders’.

The last few prints of the Recoil Calendar 2012 presenting 13 large photographs by Steve Gullick are also available. We literally only have about 20 left now. The A3 calendar is produced using waterproof, resin-coated, high gloss photographic paper. Don’t miss out!

All transactions will be processed via PayPal.
