A fan review of the Badfish show 12-28-2007
Musical Evolution/Revolution...you decideA fan review of the Lupo's show. It was sent to us today via her "Life according to Nikki" websiteThe music industry is certainly chasing artists out of Dodge. Or perhaps, we'll learn it's really the other way around.I saw a real deal of a show on Friday night (Dec. 28). I paid an unbelievable $15 to see some GREAT bands. One of which, knocked my proverbial socks off!The band is Grey Sanford. You figure out the name. You know, there are ALOT of FANTASTIC bands out there that sadly, the nation may not even have the pleasure of listening to because there's just so much good stuff out there, it's nearly impossible to keep your finger on the pulse of ALL of it. It's like a full time job to see all the music there is to see. And I bet you can't even scratch the surface! Thank God for music services such as iTunes and networking opportunities like that of MySpace. I never knew getting my hands on music could be so easy. And all of THIS kind of music!Back to Grey Sanford. Let's just say that there is no doubt they were THEE best band showcased this evening. Kim Petraca...rather, ROCKER. Can this chick SING! She's got all the passion and emotion lead pipes should! I was beyond impressed at the melodic, rocking groove that is born of this highly talented band: Kim Petrarca (lead vocals; rhythm guitar); Greg Roch (vocals; rhythm guitar; keys); John Carosi (drums); Andy Roch (rhythm and slide guitar; percussion); Mike Geer (bass) and last, but certainly not least, Neil Gagnon (lead guitar). These cats can really rock it and keep you in the moment with Kim's searing vocals and the band's overall tight jigsaw connection with each other as well as the audience. Not only tight but smooth, clean, crisp sound...you could hear Kim's lyrics punching a hole into the space created by the force of their intensity. It's quite evident this band loves to play together and I always love to see that camaraderie spill out onto the stage. It makes you, enjoying the show, feel like a part of it. Part of their happiness. You being there to see them and support them makes them happy.I certainly felt happy for Grey Sanford that night. They had a great bill, although I will admit I feel they should've had a later time slot...although it certainly looked like the sold-out venue was at capacity at the time they hit the stage! -

UPDATES
What up everyone? We're still recording, it's going good but slow. Trying to make some really good demos but can't wait to get them done and out. We have a show at Club Hell coming up on Aug 26th.
Wanted to let everyone know that we are now on sonicbids.com you can access the page by clicking the sonicbids link on the myspace page where the band member names are. There is a free download of an acoustic "Spin" that we recorded when we were writing it. So head on over and download it.
Also, we're back in NYC on Oct. 27th at Kenny's Castaways. Last time we were there we rocked it and got a curtain call. We'd like to do that again, so hit us up if you'd like to head down.
That's all for now.
