Back with another heat scorching single is Scarborough legend and mighty Monolith veteran: Grimace Love. Having been honing his mic skills for many years, Grimace Love is undoubtedly one of the world's most seasoned, knowledgeable and articulate rappers. Originality and versatility are his most dominant lyrical traits. Grimace is one of few rappers today who remains true to what he considers to be the 'roots' of hip-hop culture. Among these roots are, dedication to lyricism and bringing about social change, in ones music. With more than a decade of performance experience under his belt, Grimace knows how to rock a crowd. Having shared the stage with numerous artists such as; KRS-One, Mos Def, Jill Scott, O.C., Bilal, Special Ed, Kardinal Offishall, Choclair, Saukrates, Rich London, and Brass Munk to name a few. Grimace was a founding member of Toronto's Monolith clique in 1994. In 1997 Grimace made his first appearance on vinyl. Spitting a lyrical work of art on the track, "Combine with Frankenstein" from, Frankenstein's "UV" EP on released on K.O.S./EMI. A short year later, Monolith released the first project on their own label One Rock Records, "The Long Awaited..." EP. Sold strictly on the streets, to create funding for their follow-up 12" single "Bye D' Plenty". He was a featured MC on both of the group's video accompanied singles, "At the T.O.P." and "Plan Eh". Grimace's potent lyrics are on the group's only solo joint, "Bloody Murder (96)", attacking both artists and fans that sleep on his hometown. The EP received continent-wide accolades. Grimace Love has been keeping very busy making guest appearances. His spiritually inspired flows have ripped mics on "C'mon!" and "I.P.B" from Dan-e-o's "The Book of Daniel" album and on Dan-e-o's "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" album on the video accompanied song "Kama Sutra", which to date has over 6 MILLION views on Youtube. G.L. appeared on Mastermind's, "Volume 49-The Set Up", and "Volume 50-Street Legal released on Virgin Music. Grimace was also featured on Irs' debut album "Welcome to Planet Irs," on the song "Controlled Anger", released on What Chu Want/Universal. Another Monolith member, Charisma also showcased Grimace's writing skills and lyrical perfection on the song "In These Waits" from his "Breaking Barriers" EP. Winning them first place in the International Song Writing competition, (Lyrics only category). Finally after much anticipation, in 2002 Grimace Love dropped his first solo debut single, video & EP "At First Sight", released on What Chu Want Enterprises. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..
