    GYPSY HOTEL
Bourbon Soaked Snake Charmin' Rock'n'Roll Cabaret”
    Saturday 20 November 2010

YES, Brothers and Sisters, GYPSY HOTEL HAVE A NEW HOME!
(At least till they turn this joint into a Starbucks/shoppingmall or something equally non-cultural!)

We held our 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY at THE WOODTORE in Caledonian Road and it was a great SUCSESS! (we hope you agree if you were there!)

This place has got what we've been looking for!
*A DECENT STAGE that you can see wherever you are in the room!
*Cool barstaff serving you moderately priced drinks in actual glass (not plastic!)
*A smoking area where you can drink!
*Cool bouncers, clean toilets etc......did I forget something? Well, I should probably mention that the dressing rooms are big enough for the talents we are putting on!

So we are planning to be at this venue every 3rd Saturday, like we were at Bardens Boudoir – well, except the 3rd Saturday in December, but we'll be here on NEW YEARS EVE!

(Dates are: 15 January, 19 February, 19 March etc – and yes I am looking for suitably weird performers for future events – drop me a line (sniff) pr@theurbanvoodoomachine.com

Advance tickets are now availiable priced £7 and by getting one of those it means you can jump the queue and save £2 if you intend to come after 10pm. (we still operate original price by the way, £6.66 before 10pm)

I'm very happy to be putting on a party at this place, I'll hope you'll join us!

    Peace, Love and Bourbon,
    Paul-Ronney Angel

Bourbon Soaked Snake Charmin' Rock'n'Roll Cabaret”
    Saturday 16 October 2010

    <4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!>
*Have we really been holding debauched drunken parties with the finest performers In Rock'n'Roll & Circus Cabaret for 4 years?
    Shit, who is bringing cake?

    **LINE UP**

DR. WILL & THE WIZARDS – Ragtime Voodoo Rock'n'Roll!

Get a taste of Dr Will here:

    ****
FRANK SANAZI – The Ubermeister Of Lounge!
*Probably the most funny political satire ever and a great voice. He wont be bringing the Iraq Pack with Sadammi Davies Jr and the boys tonight, but we hope he will sing his smash hit “Strangers On My Flight”!

    ****
LEDFOOT – Master Of The Gothic Blues!
*Timothy Scott McConnell have been in the music business for over 30 years playing in cool bands like the Rockcats and the Havalinas (who's High Hopes were covered by Bruce Springsteen, no less)
With Ledfoot he takes a back to basics approach, going at it alone armed only with a custom built 12 string guitar and the devils songbook! If you missed him at the Bardens Boudoir closing party and miss him again, you should get your head checked!

    ****

    ****
NIGEL BURCH & The Flea-Pit Orchestra – Spit'n'Sawdust Bar Room Skiffle!

  • Sunday 29 August: Bank Holiday Special with Reverend Beat Man and more!

GYPSY HOTEL - “Bourbon Soaked Snake Charmin Rock'n'Roll Cabaret”
BANK HOLIDAY AT THE COCK TAVERN EC1
    Sunday 29 August 2010

    Photobucket
    Hey People!

Gypsy Hotel on a Sunday, what the f**k?? Relax, it's a bank holiday so you working people can have a hangover on Monday – besides we have a Reverend for all you sinners who have missed church!

    Hope to see ya there!

    THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT

    ****LINE UP****
REVEREND BEAT MAN – Mr Voodoo Rhythm Himself!
The primitive gospel-blues-punk-preacher Reverend Beat Man is a true underground legend having started the Voodoo Rhythm label over a decade ago. He has since then put out a string of fine releases not only for his own work, but also with many bands that have checked into the Gypsy Hotel including Mama Rosin, The Pussywarmers and Delaney Davidson.
Enough about his label though, the man himself is a one man blues-trash-rock explotion not to be missed – it's a Sunday for fuck sake so come and let the Reverend save your Rock'n'Roll soul!
PS. This is his first UK show for over 7 years, and we've been working to get him over here for the last 3 – the time has come, say HALLELUJAH!

DELANEY DAVIDSON – And His Ghost Orchestra!
*Former Dead Brothers drummer turned “the best one man band in the world” - according to us that is, and we are always right!
Do yourself a favour and check out his new album “Self Decaptitaion” - then do your self another favour by seeing him live!

DEPTFORD BEACH BABES – Dalston Surf Girls/Boys!

*Surf twang guitars, stompin' beats and grass skirts is what these guys are all about – and a whole lotta fun of course! The Beach Babes (and blokes) are regulars at Gypsy Hotel, both onstage and at the bar.
They are winners of the Indie World Cup, we hate both indie and the world cup, but we do love The Deptford Beach Babes!
Check their new album “Sunbathing On A Vinyl Floor” out now on Sexton Ming's Rim Records.

    PLUS BURLESQUE BOP'N'GRIND FROM:

LALLA MORTE – From Russia With Love!

    ANETTE BETTY– Saucy Shakin!

FANNY DIVINE - A Modern Day Curiosity!

    dj SCRATCHY – Resident Wax-Spinner!
*Scratchy has been our resident DJ, compere and musical guidance since the beginning of the club. He has toured the world as a warm up DJ for The Clash, Gogol Bordello, Dr Feelgood, The Urban Voodoo Machine and The Pogues amonst others. Do not ask him to play Madonna!
