In the Fall of 2008 founding members Myke Clements, Rik Espinosa and Kirk Asher came together in Myke's apartment to lay the musical foundation that would become Hepafilter. With lyrics written in Crayon on napkins the trekked to Phoenix Arizona and recorded their first song in a church nursery. The following year vocalist and frontman Garrett Russell literally showed up on Hepafilter's doorstep drawn by the sounds of guitars and drums. The band then asked him to join and he gladly accepted. Shortly thereafter Kyle Asher, Kirk's older brother joined the band on bass. With a full line up and several new songs written the boys hit the practice room hard for the summer and followed that up with several shows during the Fall semester of their senior year of college. Then in January of 2011 Hepafilter recorded "Coward" a seven song EP featuring the best material and the best recordings that Hepafilter has ever produced. Coward will be released the Summer of 2011.
