  • Bio

Now defunct Swedish hip hop pioneers. Illtrakkerz was formed in the small fishing town of Simrishamn in 1997. The band appeared on Swedish national radio the same year and was interviewed by legendary music journalist Mats Nileskär. Illtrakkerz soulful, sentimental and soft sound, combined with existentialist, poetic lyrics was probably too complex for the domestic audience to pick up at the time. The band never got a record deal, and Totte left the band after the second self-released EP "Born" in 1999, leaving only producer-rapper Jonas left. He went on to produce and record the EP "Bad Love" in 2000, and the last track that was finished, "Rap Life (You Can Have It), a bleeding critique of the prevailing anti-intellectualism and self-destructive nature of hip hop culture, appeared on the Swedish compilation CD Jakten På Underjorden" in 2001.
