Kris Hovel

 

Kris is one of the few successful DJ’s and promoters in Latvia to play minimal/tech house and his style is now making waves across the globe (London, Leeds, Milan, Vilnus, Berlin, Barcelona, Madrid). Playing alongside DJ’s such as the Guido Schneider, Anja Schneider, Benjamin Bates, Format B, Harry Axt, Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner, Daniel Steinberg to name a few, he intuitively works a crowd whether he is creating a building opening set or a full on 4am power set.

Kris is the mind behind two of the biggest Minimal/tech house brands in Latvia, Danscotheek & The Pencilhaus. Danscotheek is the brain- child of Kris, it was created through his love and inspiration of the uk music scene and this was his inspiration to create a movement in Latvia dedicated to this sound.

The Pencilhaus being his newest event started in September 2008 and is already a leading monthly Minimal party in Riga. Its unique vibe, interesting people and consistently good quality music attracts a gathering of 300-400 dedicated followers.
