    ...... ...... ...... .. .. ..- Birth date: 8/16/1981 .. - Name: Matthew Play .. - Where are you from? New Orleans, LA .. - What kind of music do you produce? Tech House, Minimal Techno, Techno, and Electro House .. - Why did you start producing? I was surrounded by a very musical family early on in my life, but it was my late sister, Angel Simmons, who was my great influence. I would steal her tapes of Kyper, African Bambaataa, and 2 Live Crew - then listen for hours. Groups like the Chemical Brothers and Underworld inspired me get into the scene and purchase my first piece of hardware, the Roland MC-303. I think my most eye opening moment came with the purchase of Frankie Bones "Factory 101". Classic! .. - When did you start producing? I started at the age of 16 (1997) when I purchased the Roland MC-303. Looking back, I made some quality tunes with that machine. At the same time I was in a Rock band playing lead guitar and lead vocals. I grew tired of the problems involved with being part of a touring band and in 2003, decided to focus solely on my career as an electronic music producer/dj. .. - First EM (Electronic Music) artists you heard of: Kyper .. - Most important clubs where you have played: Flatland Voodoo Jam X-Games to 1000 plus crowd, not to mention the 1000's watching around the world .. - Career highlights: Playing the X-Games. Playing along the likes of "Monk" (previously of Rabbit and the Moon and owner of Hallucination Records), Computer Club, and Dead P.A. .. - Future plans: I plan on pursuing this as my life long career with no holding back.
