.. .. .. Culminating in a dedicated work schedule during the last half of January and the first half of February, 2010, Moon Pool & Dead Band was never supposed to work. In Detroit, the duos base, the cross pollination of genres seems to have an invisible magnetic force keeping musicians of different persuasions from ever meeting, let alone collaborating. .... This all changed 01.26.10 when the limited cassette only release "overspace" founds its way on to an exclusive traveling merch table and into the hands of a few friends. Limited dinner/listening parties ensued and imbued the new group with inspiration to keep working. .... A modus operandi of: "no cheating" led to easily forthcoming descriptions from peers of "commercial" and "danceable." Things not to be afraid of. But, these realizations then evolved the project, in real time no-less, to consider making the sound a little more complicated, a little less acceptable. .... Word quickly spread across south east Michigan and led to a thwarted assassination attempt against Shettler with a lunatic would-be assassin claiming to have gone deranged over the rumor that Shettler had tuned Young's previously otherwise Sequential Circuits Pro One synthesizers. .... Not to be limited, like hoards of electronic spisar across the globe, to DJing or the aesthetic of "checking your email" on stage. The group chooses to use exclusively dedicated hardware to create all of it's music, analog or otherwise, and of course, in real time.

A modus operandi of: "no cheating" led to easily forthcoming descriptions from peers of "commercial" and "danceable." Things not to be afraid of. But, these realizations then evolved the project, in real time no-less, to consider making the sound a little more complicated, a little less acceptable.

Word quickly spread across south east Michigan and led to a thwarted assassination attempt against Shettler with a lunatic would-be assassin claiming to have gone deranged over the rumor that Shettler had tuned Young's previously otherwise Sequential Circuits Pro One synthesizers.
