    Phly is a well known figure in the Hamburg electronic music scene. He has been slowly building his reputation for years as a DJ with residencies at Phonodrome, Lounge, Kurhotel and Purgatory and regular gigs at Hamburg's finest club Baalsaal that has led to guest slots all over Germany as well as slots in Space/Ibiza, Mio/Moscow, Tunnel/St.Petersburg and RaveOnSnow/Austria. His show on samurai.fm presents his fresh and edgy DJ sets almost once a month. Recently Phly has turned his hand to production with notable success. His first release as one half of Mars Fellows with partner Sebo came out on the fast emerging label Out of Orbit Records. Setting up a label seemed like an obvious progression for Phly's keen A+R ear and so Kompass Musik was born. It's first release due out early in 2007 will be from Extrawelt who had notable success with their first release 'Soopertrack' on James Holden's Border Community, followed by releases from Pelle Buys, Philipp Wolgast and Antilopè & Tigerskin. At the moment Kompass Musik is inactiv. We'll see what's next...

    initially i entered the circuit when house music got started in the mid 80s... nu groove, trax, house sound of chicago - all these excellent, groundbreaking labels got me in the groove. respect! the story continues... "god made me funky"! ;-)
