...... .. Members Terrell Atrophy and Tim Balch established Promising Attempt in late 2007 as a creative outlet to make music different from what their peers were doing. After hastily recording two demos in 2008, the band, now featuring Joseph Janton on guitar and Charley Birkhead on bass, started playing as many shows as possible around PA. They then traveled to Cleveland, OH to record their debut LP after being offered by a studio. Titled “Promising Attempt Is Just A Red Herring”, the LP displays the growth of a band from humble beginnings to amazing potential. The band, with the record finished, signed a contract with West 80th Records to release it.
