Bio:

Rising Pulse Records was formed in May 2008 by Brooklyn-born musician John William LaMacchia. LaMacchia began playing in local Brooklyn bands in the late ’80s into the early ’90s which eventually led him to join Brooklyn’s “urban fusionists,” Candiria. The band has since shared the stage with underground legends Bad Brains, Neurosis, Voivod, The Misfits, Poison The Well, Lamb Of God, Clutch, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Isis. King Diamond, Merciful Fate and countless others. After a brief departure from Candiria due to differences in musical direction, LaMacchia formed Spylacopa, an underground post prog/experimental studio project with members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Isis and Made out of Babies. In late 2007, LaMacchia was scouting for a record label to release Spylacopa’s Debut EP. One record company that had an initial interest in releasing the record had asked him if he would consider starting his own record company. After extensive discussions regarding the record company financing the label, the deal fell through. Frustrated and now tantalized by the idea of owning a label, he decided it was something that had to happen and Rising Pulse Records was formed. Currently Rising Pulse Records is releasing a series of remix and rare-tracks records by Candiria titled “Toying With the Insanities”. The four volume set includes the releases on multiple formats and contributions from some of the most influential undergound artists including Kayo Dot, Dalek, Benjamin Weinman Of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Pole and many others. In addition, the label is currently working on the release of Julie Christmas’s solo record, The Bad Wife- Recorded and produced by Andrew Schneider, and includes musical contributions by LaMacchia, Joe Tomino of Dub trio, Oddity, Brendan Tobin of Made out of Babies and many others. This is Christmas’ first solo effort and will be released on CD, LP and digital formats. With the focus on high quality, carefully crafted design and packaging multi colored, deluxe vinyl.
