    Robert Steven Williams is both a songwriter and fiction writer. He is also the managing editor of CBGB.com. ..I Am Not My Job.. is Robert's first CD and several tracks have companion short stories. Three stories/songs have been published. .. .. A twenty-year music industry veteran, Robert has spent the last eight years writing and attending workshops with such established writers as Rosanne Cash, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Steve Seskin, David Wilcox, Rivers Rutherford and Chuck Cannon. Robert has also taken fiction classes at the Gotham Writers Workshop, Zeotrope and the New School. .. .. Robert was a Thayer Scholarship winner at Squaw Valley Writers Community (Amy Tan and Alice Sebold came out of Squaw). He was also a finalist in the Raymond Carver short story contest in 2005. .. .. His company Against the Grain has recently established a joint venture with 615 Music in Nashville to create a song library targeted at the film and tv industry. Robert also teaches a workshop on how to place songs in indie film and TV at the songwriter retreat SummerSongs. .. .. ..Awards and Recognition.. ..
