Bio
"I'm a fan. So Fully, the LP released by Seth in April 2010, is a California Classic. There's an even mix of fun, Summery surf songs and deeper, soulful tracks that got to me just in time to keep the Summer vibe alive well thru September. Think Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys if he had grown up with hippie parents, surfing in Southern California instead of landlocked in Ohio. It feels right to claim this as Surf Rock but it's a far cry from the acoustic strumming of Jack Johnson and has more in common with early Americana like the Byrds and the Grateful Dead but with heavy influence from the Motown/Stax inspired Blue Eyed Soul. Call it what you want, this is the type of album you'll want for your next road trip. "-AudioCurrent.net "The sun forgot to show its face this summer. Instead, we dwelt in dreary days of bleak surf and dour haze. But last week I was given Seth Pettersen's album So Fully, and the sun has mysteriously appeared. I can't say that Pettersen's music has a metaphysical, element-altering power, but it seems that So Fully has the ability to breathe new life into a monotonous spell. So Fully blends layers of rock/psych/pop into an ambitious album by one of the area's greatest songwriters. Pettersen, Franklin for Short's front man, weaves a seemingly spiritual web into the songwriting for So Fully. He casts the elemental themes of darkness and light, water and fire, and earth and spirit into a bright album, finally delivering us the summer we never had. " -VC REPORTER .......... ..
