Hello and welcome to Silent Expression's myspace page! A BRIEF HISTORY: Stephen Ashe & Mat Johnson formed Silent Expression in early 2007. They originally started writing songs together way back in early 2004 with individual styles derived from various influences. They worked together previously in their old band Solace and after Solace disbanded and Stephen and Mat went to university they decided on forming Silent Expression, mainly coming about due to the amount of free time univeristy gave them! (Ah to be a student again...). So after a few jams and alcoholic beverages they decided Silent Expression would be put together as a means of recording acoustic songs that the two had been working on and the band went from there! Steven Morris through some mild whiskey related persuasion began producing some of the two's early songs. He produced Tryin' to get heaven, which turned out pretty damn well. Collaborating with Rhymezwell who you can find in our friends list. So check it out! Simon Griffiths joined on vocals along with Christian Wilson (Sid!) on drums and the band began practising more regularly as a full line up with Mat playing bass and rhythm guitar (not at the same time, he's not that good), Rob Price who has played in the band before will take over Bass and leave Mat to rhythm guitar when he moves back in the area which we hope is soon and the band will finally be complete! -
