GROOVE ALLEGIANCE 1) SUPER SQUELCH 2) SUPER SQUELCH (MACCA REMIX) Cat No: UKSPL025 Release Date: 30TH JUNE 2008 on 12" Vinyl & Download
Enjoying success earlier this year on Splank! with 'Organ Dementia/Restless', Groove Allegiance have also recently remixed Torpedo Boys 'The Disco Song' for Lounge Records and Break The Box's 'Ghostlicker' for Ground Level. This latest number 'Super Squelch' has already been doing the business at recent Groove Allegiance gigs, the title giving plenty away, as wonky LFO noises provide the fills, whilst stomping beats and a twisted electro hook provide the solid dance-floor groove.
Canadian stalwart Macca, head honcho of Invasive Records, turns up to provide the remix. Catching the eye of Splank! with his recent remixes of DJ Dan's 'Chop Shop' (InStereo) and Robb G & The Phat Conductor's 'Heavy' (Promo), the Macca sound has a hint of breakbeat mixed with a big room electro flavour, and with this remix he stays true to his word. The beats are tight, the fills and edits feel quite breaky, and the hook is hypnotic. This one's perfect for the big arena & just in time for festival season.
Strider’s recently provided remixes for Ground Level Records, Control Breaks and Gene Poole, pre-ceded by his previous release on Splank! ’Inner City Sumo/The Edge’.He’s successfully forged a unique sound of late, matching crunchy beats with distorted bass hooks to create wonky twisted electro and breakbeat.
’Tokyo Loading’ is a classic Strider affair, vocal edits galore & tight as you like programming, with a Daft Punk (circa Discovery) inspired synth sequence breakdown slotting in between the punchy beats & warmly distorted bass hook.
Brothers Bud, which we consider oneof Fingerlickin’s finest artists, get busy on the remix. Having last year provided massive remixes of their own single ’Yap Yap’ as well as Soul Of Man’s ’Acid Punch’ the guys are back with an absolute belter.Chunky beats, screeching leads and bottomless subs are all present. Not to mention the second to none production skills, just check out the breakdown!!!
The latest Splank bomb by Groove Allegiance is now ready to go as from 28th January on 12" and digital from all good stores. Pre-release digital is already available from
Apart from providing summer smash 'The Drip' which topped Beatport's Breaks chart, Groove Allegiance have been fairly quiet on the production front this year. Instead they've been focusing attentions towards running things at Splank! Records, and promoting their recently mixed 'The Shirk Off' CD compilation with tours of Canada, and UK. However, in the last few months they've been locked away in the studio tweaking two new singles.
First up 'Organ Dementia', an uplifting track featuring a rasping bass hook, distorted organ pads, filtered disco stabs, all locked together with trademark tight skippy beats.
'Restless' is a foray into 4/4 twisted electro territory. This one's all about the groove with a warm pounding sub bass, electro hooks, infectious vocal stabs and that all important big clap. A great DJ tool for all floors!!
Expect more from Groove Allegiance in the near future with new tracks and forthcoming remixes of The Torpedo Boyz' 'Disco Song', and for Canadian label DSV and Ground Level Recs.
