BIOGRAPHY


The Crimson consists of five musicians, drawn together by their passion for powerful melodic music. All The Crimson members have already gained experience in various projects, reaching from Blues to Metal and have already proven their skills on stage as well as on recordings. Their music might be described best as a modern kind of Metal, combining elaborated songwriting and ambitious arrangements. Melodic elements alternate with powerful riffing all held together by driving rhythms. Lyrically, dealing and coping with everyday philosophy comes to the fore, expressed by vocals that sing, shout and scream out what has been buried inside for far too long.

The story of The Crimson started in the beginning of 2008, when Michael Sauermoser (g) and Andreas Zeller (d) decided to look for musicians to form a new band. Soon Thomas Stock (g) and Thomas Iberer (b) joined and a few months later Andreas Juwan (v) finally completed the lineup.

With the combined power of five well-experienced musical individuals, which each spent several years as parts of the Austrian underground music scene, The Crimson entered their rehearsal room and went on writing songs. Unsurprisingly, they made a quite quick progress in merging their different musical influences into the characteristic sound of The Crimson and just some months after getting together they entered the studio and recorded their 6-track debut EP "Buried Memories" (released 03/2009). Their debut gained overwhelming feedback by both critics and fans and the song “Memories” appeared on the sampler “Heavy Hitters” (Metal Hammer UK/Issue 194, 08/2009) aside bands like Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God and Dream Theater. The Crimson also managed to win the Myspace Featured Artist Award in 2009, which they were nominated for by Heaven Shall Burn. Besides numerous live appearances in their local scene, The Crimson has already played support-shows for acts like DevilDriver (USA) and Malefice (UK).

For their current EP “Wrong Pride” (release: 12/12/2010) The Crimson joined forces with Cubeaudio Studios (GER) and worked with the renowned producer Markus Gumball (Tamoto, Guano Apes, All Ends). The songs got their finishing touch by the hands of UE Nastasi (SterlingSound/NY), who has already worked for bands like Soilwork, Fear Factory or Paradise Lost. Due to this auspicious collaboration The Crimson has now a product according to current industrial standards out and is ready to get signed…
