The One Year Band startet when German-Swiss artist/musician Karen Geyer boated across the Atlantic on a cargo ship with her doublebass in the summer of 2008 for a year long artist residency in New York, during which she planned to bring together a band for one year. „My intetntion was to get to know musicians, getting to know each other through just the instruments, America and Europe, pure improvisation.“ It worked and every time Karen visits New York again, the One Year Band is one year older....
