Booking: Backstage Agency/ Toni Ritonen ph. +358 50 4044573 toni.ritonen@backstagealliance.com .... Booking in Germany, Austria & Switzerland: KKT GmbH / Kathrin Schierz kathrin@kktlive.de ph: +49 30 695 80 880 The debut album "The Grand Confusion" was released in 2009. The next one will be released in 2012! .... Blood Ties and Tons of Soul: .... The Souls is a bold name for any band. You have to be able to live up to it, you have to back it up with your actions. Or else you're nothing. These three young men deserve to wear that title, because they really can walk the walk. The Souls is fueled by classic stuff so many good bands have been running on since ages ago: blood ties, small town boredom and burning passion to play music. And not just to play like the average willing-to-risk-nothing dude does, but to play the fuck out, to play like it's the only thing that makes any sense in the world. That's how The Souls play and that's why they're worth our attention unlike 99% of the garbage out there. .... The official version of The Souls history states that this heaven-sent power trio was formed in 2007, less than two years ago. That's only true to a degree, because the real story of the band goes way back further. The whole tale wraps around two brothers Jani and Toni Orpana, born and bread in Kouvola, a somewhat sinister and sleepy Finnish town famous for railroads and not much else. The Orpana siblings have been living and breathing music since day one. First they raid their dad's extensive record collection and later .. to make noise with whatever they could lay their hands on. The brothers take in heavy doses of all the good shit at a very early age , which pays off as they begin to play real instruments somewhere down the line. Jani's weapon of choice is the guitar and Toni finds his mission behind a big old Ludwig-kit. As the early days of endless jams in a shared bedroom go by their playing gets more fierce and music begins to take shape in their heads. The best thing about this brotherly rock'n'roll mayhem is that it all sounds 100% natural. Jani and Toni don't have to study the right style or approach, because it's already in them, be it freaky psychedelic blues, ear splitting proto-heavy grooves or drunken Stones-y riffs. What later becomes The Souls style is present from the get-go. It's raw and raggedy ass in the beginning, but it's there. They're the right stuff. .... After learning the ropes by playing around their hometown under the moniker Sister Morphine, the pieces started to fall into place. The shit gets tighter and Jani and Toni's boyhood dream starts to turn into serious, uncompromising reality. The last missing ingredient steps in the picture as the multi-talented Antti Takalo takes over the bass duties and brings in a whole new level of musical wisdom and heavy grooves into the already boiling sonic mixture. And now we have The Souls: three young guys with everything to prove, ready to rip it up. This triple threat doesn't come empty handed on the scene. The Souls is armed with great songs, monstrous riffs and chops to play them right. "Grand Confusion" is their opening statement and it's a fearless one, because The Souls clearly follow their own path. Is their music the right kind for this season, you might ask? Is it fashionable? Is it easy enough on your ears? Who the fuck cares. For once, throw away your ear plugs and crank this mother up. It's good for your soul. .. -

The debut album "Grand Confusion" -> March 2009.
Blood Ties and Tons of Soul:
The Souls is a bold name for any band. You have to be able to live up to it, you have to back it up with your actions. Or else you’re nothing. These three young men deserve to wear that title, because they really can walk the walk. The Souls is fueled by classic stuff so many good bands have been running on since ages ago: blood ties, small town boredom and burning passion to play music. And not just to play like the average willing-to-risk-nothing dude does, but to play the fuck out, to play like it’s the only thing that makes any sense in the world. That’s how The Souls play and that’s why they’re worth our attention unlike 99% of the garbage out there.
The official version of The Souls history states that this heaven-sent power trio was formed in 2007, less than two years ago. That’s only true to a degree, because the real story of the band goes way back further. The whole tale wraps around two brothers Jani and Toni Orpana, born and bread in Kouvola, a somewhat sinister and sleepy Finnish town famous for railroads and not much else.
