It’s not often we end up releasing four singles from an album, but with the tuneful Love Supreme standout track ‘Waiting For The Love’ we seem to have achieved it. Penned with UK based Benjamin James Smith, (who also delivers the snappy vocal) the track screamed single right from the start. Heading up the remix package are two stomping mixes from synth-wizards, Chicken Lips. Dean and Andy keep the catchy vocal but overdrive things in the synth department. Their vast armoury of sounds and accomplished arrangement makes this mix one to be really proud of. The original, of course, features in the package as do two new mixes from The Love Supreme themselves. The first takes a German detour with their ‘Kraut Diversion’, the style borrowed heavily from heroes such as Faust, Can and Amon Düül II and then their ‘Reversion’ deploys their own synth factory to major effect; white noise, analog burbles and a fat-wet bass melds together in a dancefloor workout. .... Fellow Italians, The Mushrooms Project, slow the groove down for their remix; haunting pads and floating atmospherics all build to a rolling bass, slow-mo-incrusted crescendo. As if this quality remix package wasn’t enough for one release, our Milan based alchemists brew up a b-side as well; the hypnotic, creeping ‘The Tea Party’. .... The original of ‘Waiting For The Love’ can be found on the album ‘New Millennium Freaks’. .... Obama had just become a Senator; the bankers still had their snouts in each others' troughs, not the taxpayer's pockets, Deadmau5 didn't exist, three times as many record shops did. Minimal still sounded vaguely edgy and interesting, disco was the preserve of thirty year old men with beards, Annie Mac was about to discover Dubstep… .... Now we’ve got Radio One jocks devoting half their shows to Aeroplane mixes, and "edits" in danger of becoming a genre itself, and just as record sales head ever closer to what must finally be the bottom of the sales curve, the spirit of disco finally rises again. Yep, there’s going to be no white horses or hanging out with Bianca and Truman Capote, it's all forgotten basements in Dalston and cardigans from Primark this time round. And the music…there's always the music. .... Whether it's Terje chopping up Chaz Jankel into piano scream up heaven, or new Russian lads Acos Coolkas creating ice cool electronic house, Prins Thomas adding Scando swing to Sorcerer's West Coast lounge tackle, Richard Sen going disco-psyche on Brad Vachal, Kelpe taking Architeq's glistening glitchtonica for a warm and fuzzy slo mo bath, Hercules getting tracky on another Chas J track, or Forty Thieves adding West Coast bump to Morten Sorensens timeless 'Start Something'... we’ve again been lucky to work with some of the world's better artists over the last couple of years, and couldn't be more happy to round em' up and show them off as a 2 x cd set on Tirk 02, before striding off into what promises to be an, um, "challenging" 2009. .. .. ..TIRK040CD - UNABOMBERS - ELECTRIC CHAIR SAVED MY LIFE.. .... .. ....
