  • Bio

Vocab was born and raised in the DMI, aka the Dirty Money Island, aka Des Moines Iowa. He started rhyming many years ago, but it wasn’t until recently he decided it was what he wanted to do with his life, from there on out its been grind mode 24/7 Growing up listening to hip hop mos def had a major influence on his choice in career, what many people don’t know is that many genre’s of music have influenced the young mc, including Country, Techno, Rock, and especially Jazz. It started with Dropping mixtapes throughout 03 to 06. Now, in 2008, the time is finally right for the debut album from the hungry mc, along with partner in rhyme ‘Sticky’, Sons of Liberty are set to put the DMI on the map and deliver a powerful message in the process. just click the album cover to download ..<img src="http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/9505/10qzziwjp1.png" align="RIGHT"

Vocab the mc and Sticky (aka Gutta Boy). They met at a young age and have been chasing money together ever since, recently mc/producer Phatfolks has entered the group, thus improving on an already unbeatable formula. The Label is North Star Records and they're set to put the DMI on the map.
  • Influences

Just about too many Hip Hop influences to name, just to give you an idea though: Rakim/GZA and the Wu Tang Clan/Pharoahe Monch (The GOAT!)/Company Flow (Especially the homie el-p)/Percee P/Kool G Rap/KRS ONE/Masta Ace/MF Grimm/MF DOOM/Slick Rick/K-Rino/R.A. The Rugged Man. Jazz also plays a huge part in my musical influences, special shout outs go to: Miles Davis (RIP), Herbie Handcock, Thelonious Monk. Also major shoutout to Johnny Cash, you are very missed in the world of music. Willy Nelson (I see you still going strong!).
  • Sounds Like

Vocab has been compared to many mc’s over the course of his career, most notably Talib Kweli and Brother Ali, Vocab had this to say….”I hate being compared to other cats, im always after my own sound and I consider sounding like someone else to be a failure, fuck it though, at least im being compared to somebody dope!”
