.
Featured Album Releases:
.
Justin Bieber- Never Say Never: The Remixes– If there’s another 16-year-old with this much pull, we’d like to meet him or her. Let’s face it: Sure, Biebs didn’t snag “Best New Artist” at the Grammys, but with millions of records sold and a 3D film in theaters, this kid is ruling the world. So naturally, Bieber is dropping a complimentary remix album to go along with his new flick… and he’s brought along some of his friends: Miley, Jaden and Usher just to name a few.
.
Bright Eyes- The People’s Key– Following 2007’s Cassadega, indie-folk journeyman Conor Oberst said he might “lock the door and say goodbye” to his original trio, instead touring with Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band and supergroup Monsters of Folk. Now, four years since their last release, Oberst is back for what could be the final Bright Eyes record. So you’ll probably wanna listen!
.
****Our indie-rock aficionado Noah Hornick weighs in: “Bright Eyes eighth and potentially final studio album i s out today and from what I’ve heard, they’re going out with a bang. Like LCD Soundsystem did with This is Happening, Conner Oberst and the rest of Bright Eyes went all out with their last album producing a genuine work of art. They really pulled it off this time. NPR even quotes, “This is the best record Bright Eyes has ever made.” If that’s not an indicator of a great album, then I don’t know what is. ****

Saigon- The Greatest Story Never Told- It’s taken six mixtapes, four street albums and a notable appearance as himself in HBO’s bromance-of-a-TV series, Entourage, but NYC rapper Saigon is finally dropping his debut LP. And time has allowed him to reel in top-talent: Just Blaze, Kanye and others handle production, while guests rappers include Jay-Z, Q-Tip, Swizz Beatz, Bun B and more.
.
**** Our hip-hop guru “Behind the Beats with Jerry” gives his take: “Saigon’s The Greatest Story Never Told was once thought to be the Detox of the underground: Slated as the flagship album for Just Blaze’s Fort Knocks label distributed by Atlantic, it promised to be the ultimate marriage of Blaze’s heavy metal Boombap and The Yardfather’s street tales forged in the penitentiary. After years of bureaucratic red tape and label drama, the album is finally coming out. Not to detract from his many mixtapes and street albums, but this is the focused narrative, seamlessly meshing critical analysis of society’s ills with neck-breaking beats which fans have been waiting for. Buy three.” ****

.
Yuck-Yuck– Every so often a group of young 20-somethings from London come along and generate so much blog-buzz it makes your eyes hurt… in a good way. Yuck is that band. This English crew channel their love of lo-fi 90’s indie-rock-jams the likes of Pavement and Neutral Milk Hotel. It’s a time travel without the headache of lost baggage.

Don't forget the new Horizontal Ladies Club CD. They sound like the Beatles meets Arcade Fire. PJ Harvey's new CD is great as well.
